The Baobab Seed

One hell of a long journey across two continents finally arrived yesterday – a baobab sculpture created for Afrikaburn outside Cape Town in April 2017, arrived in deepest East Sussex.

Created by a friend it was the centrepiece of a large installation called Yggdrasil which burnt at sunrise on the final morning of the festival. Designed by a friend called Nix – www.nixdavies.com – it spent a few months in the Karoo desert before setting sail. Some pictures of it in the giant Baobab tree can be seen here – The Baobab Seed @ Afrikaburn

We think it’s stunning and are pondering other seeds that deserve gigantifying.

Hello, I am the guy commissioned by Nix and Agust to make the Baobab Seed while living in Cape Town, now based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Wondering how the sculpture is looking these days?

    Thanks
